Ultrasonic Transducer T-212-2001

Accurate Measurement up to 900°F / 500°C

The ultrasonic transducer T-212-2001, designed to operate at a frequency of 5 MHz with a 1/4" diameter, is ideal for high-temperature measurement applications. Equipped with dual Microdot connectors and capable of withstanding up to 900°F / 500°C, this transducer is perfect for evaluating excessively rough or corroded surfaces, ensuring optimal coupling and precise measurements.

Key Features of the T-212-2001:

  • High Temperature Resistance: Suitable for measurements in extreme conditions without compromising device integrity.
  • Dual Microdot Connectors: Enables quick and secure connections, optimising functionality in industrial environments.

Benefits of Using the T-212-2001:

  • Precision in Thickness Measurement: Essential for quality control in manufacturing where accuracy is critical.
  • Extended Durability and Accuracy: Built to withstand high temperatures without degradation, ensuring long service life.
  • Usage Instructions:
    • Grind excessively rough or corroded surfaces smooth to ensure proper coupling.
    • Measure the temperature of the test surface before proceeding.
    • Select the appropriate couplant and transducer for the specific application.
    • Perform a probe zero calibration according to the gauge manual.
    • Apply the couplant to the probe face before coupling to the test surface. Do not apply couplant directly to the hot test material.
    • Use only light transducer contact pressure and limit contact time to no more than 5 seconds to avoid damage.
    • If necessary, gently rock the probe to obtain a measurement value. Do not increase contact pressure.
    • Uncouple the probe and immediately cool it in water or air until it returns to ambient temperature.
    • Wipe off any remaining couplant from the probe before applying new couplant for the next measurement.

Warning!

Internal probe temperatures above 150°C can damage the probe, leading to excessive ringing, loss of sensitivity, or total probe failure.
